The Hereditary Angioedema (HAE) course has been developed by the Australasian Society of Clinical Immunology and Allergy (ASCIA), the peak professional body for allergy and clinical immunology in Australia and New Zealand.
ASCIA HAE e-training for health professionals has been developed to complement the other ASCIA e-training courses on this site.
Learning outcomes:
- Recognise potential HAE symptoms of unpredictable, recurrent and rapid swellings.
- Know what tests should be performed to screen and confirm HAE.
- Understand which patients should be referred to a clinical immunology/allergy specialist.
- Outline management options for HAE.

- You can undertake this course at your own pace.
- To obtain a Certificate of Completion for About ASCIA Hereditary Angioedema (HAE) for health professionals a result of 90% or higher is required for the final assessment in Module 4 as well as completion of Evaluation. If the required result is not obtained on the first attempt, you may reattempt the assessment after reviewing the course content.
- Each module may be reviewed.
- The module quiz results do not form part of the final assessment but similar questions may be included.
- The Final Assessment may be reattempted.
